John W. Eck, Chief Local Media Officer and Executive Vice President of Technology, Operations and Engineering

John W. Eck is Chief Local Media Officer and executive vice president of Technology, Operations and Engineering at Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America. He is responsible for oversight of UCI’s local business including the Company’s 126 television and radio stations in key markets across the country in addition to UCI’s technology, engineering, on-air operations, production and project management functions. Eck’s passion for leadership and experience driving technological innovation in large organizations is a vital asset to Univision.

Previously, Eck worked at NBC Universal for 18 years, most recently serving as president of Media Works. At NBCU, he oversaw both NBCU’s information, broadcasting and production technology, as well as NBCU’s television network, television station, and television and film studio operations. During his tenure at NBCU, Eck was responsible for leading various digital initiatives, including spearheading the digitization of NBCU’s production processes, executing NBCU’s enterprise digital asset management system and facilitating the adoption of standards for digital mobile broadcasting as a founding partner of the Open Mobile Video Coalition. He previously held various other executive, technology and financial positions within NBCU and General Electric.
